Volleyball :
THIS WAS HOW VOLLEYBALL WAS INTRODUCED
The game of volleyball, originally called “mintonette”, was invented in February 9, 1895, in Holyoke, Massachusetts by William G. Morgan. Morgan, a graduate of the Springfield College of the YMCA. He is a YMCA physical education director. The game played preferably indoors and by any number of players. In 1916 the offensive style of setting and spiking was first demonstrated in the Philippines. Over the years that followed, it became clear that standard rules were needed for tournament play, and thus the United States Volleyball Association was formed in 1928. The first tow man beach volleyball game was played two years later. Not surprisingly, the first beach volleyball association appeared in California (1965), in 1983 the professional players united under the auspices of the American Volleyball Professionals. During the 1984 Los Angeles Olympics, American men and women took gold and silver medals in indoor volleyball competition. Four years later at the Olympics in Korea, the men once again scored gold. Starting in 1996, tow man beach volleyball was officially introduced to the Olympics. Now, all world have more than eight hundred million volleyball players, and fourty six million vollyball players in the United State.

World best player of the world :
1. Misty May-Treanor - Misty May-Treanor is won Two time gold medal, back from taking a year off. She has been missed. With the regular tour MVP out for the whole last season.
2. Jen Kessy - In what is the 2nd best chemistry match-up on the tour, Jen Kessy will continue to knock the chip off of anyone's shoulder.
3. Nicole Branagh - There really is no loyalty in this sport. Nicole Branagh was plucked up and mentored b y Elaine Youngs after her very public and vocal split with Rachel Wacholder a few years back. Since then Nicole has really come into her own winning Most Improved Player twice as well as Rookie of The Year. Also who can forget here magnificent win after EY cramped up in Manhattan a three years ago. But when the big endorsement dollars that pairing with Misty May come a-knockin', it's hard to turn that down. Misty May who for the first time in years will be Kerri Walshless (knocked up) snagged the up and comer away from her mentor. Together they are the team to beat this year.
4. Elaine Youngs - Known as the John McEnroe of Pro-Beach volleyball, Elaine Youngs keeps bringing her firecracker (like an M-80) brand digging to the beach. Despite her age of somewhere between a "matriarchal" 39 and 42 (depending on who you ask) EY swept just about every tournament last year with partner Nicole Branagh. However, Nicole Branagh pulled a fast one and joined forces with Ninja Turtle May.
5. April Ross is the bulldog of the tour. She never gives up and will never surrender. Partnered with Jenn Kessy this is "the year" for this dynamic duo. With both EY and Misty May playing with new partners that have yet to combust these two should take the first couple of tourneys this year.
